An Awesome Story...

Backgroung info: I found this story on The Movement's forum, and a girl was asking people what we thought of her story. She's trying to publish a book of devotionals. Her username is truedog_m_big_sis...here's the story...

Prayer to Your Savior

1John 3:16 - By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us.

Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 5:8 - But God demonstrated His own love toward us in this: while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Imagine that you’re walking home from school one day. You up your Walkman as you begin to cross the street, not paying any attention to the traffic. Imagine a total stranger is watching a car speed toward you. He tries to yell, but your music is too loud, and the car is too close, so he does the only other thing possible. Right before the car hits you, the stranger dives and pushes you out of the way. Unfortunately, in doing so, this man sacrifices his life. Imagine your shock and confusion. Why would a man jump to save you if you never even met him before? Imagine your guilt, realizing that this man died because of your careless mistake. As the ambulance, police, crowds, and news crews come and go, what else would go through your mind? Imagine going to this man’s funeral. What would you say to his family? “I’m the one he died to save.” What would you say if you had a chance to talk to him?
This is exactly what Jesus did for you. He pushed you out of the way, and sacrificed His life for your mistakes. Think about what Jesus did for you on the cross. Think about the pain and suffering He went through so that you could spend eternity with Him in Heaven. Yes, Jesus is 100% God, but He was also 100% human, and He went through extreme pain! Think of how much you are loved! Jesus died so that you could live. But, Jesus is alive! He wants you to talk to Him. He wants you to get to know Him because He already knows you. He wants you to share your confusion, wonder, shock, thanks, and amazement with Him. Sometimes, when thinking about what He did for you, all you can do is sit there and wonder. Share with Christ how you feel about His substitution. Ask Him why! Sit there and cry awhile. You can never completely understand all that Christ went through, but what you can understand should blow your mind! Pray to Jesus as your Savior, because that is who He is!
